3 spot gouramis need a bigger tank than 20. I've found this out through experience. Mine is small still and not happy in the 20 really. And he's the only fish. I will be getting him into a 55 gallon as soon as I can with suitable tankmates. (No other gouramis or paradise fish at all.)

Yeah I know, right? Lol. Those prices, no matter where, are outrageous for a common cory. I'm not sure how common those other two are though but they are great looking ones too. I am trying to stick to the more common ones that have been tank raised for quite a whike, as they usually are...

So....I'm still going back and forth sort of on which cory species to get for two 55 gallons. Most of this is based on price right now....I would love sterbai cories as it would probably fit the temperature range better, but they are twice as much as peppered cories(paleatus). So...stocking one...

Thanks Nick. I did go ahead and put it in there. Took a while to start moving around but it eventually did. I haven't seen the gourami messing with it but doesn't mean it hasn't or won't happen. I'll just see how it goes. Hopefully it will perk back up and both snails can get along.

I kind of figured this but the reason I separated them was because the gold one wasn't wanting to come out of its shell. Not even really to eat. It still seems a bit beat up by it all and it's been a couple of weeks. Though I am willing to try in the 20 with all the live plants since I know it...

So...I had moved the chestnut to the 20 gallon with the gourami. So...nipped antennas and it keeps them curled in the rest of the way. But....at the moment, the gourami seems to be leaving it alone now. So...my debate now...the golden one is in a 10 gallon. Doesn't seem the hehe be doing so...

Don't be offended by us asking questions. We are trying to get to the root of your problem. But to do that we need more information to help us, alright? Please don't just go throwing things in the tank. It can stress the fish out even more.

Just to let you know, I wouldn't use melafix for gouramis. This can cause damage to the labyrinth organ that they need to breathe. They are in the same family as bettas.

Just because it's minimum doesn't mean it's ok. And seriously fish is an amazing website where scientist that know these fish have put information. You would do well to stay to it the best you can. Trust me, I kept reading that a 3 spot gourami (max size is 5-6 inches) only needs a minimum of 20...

I prefer the look of the regular ones I think. I'm not a real fan of long fin fish to be honest. Lol. I'm more sure about danios though unless there is a smaller variety I don't know of. Oh, and the other rasbora I had thought about was the glow light rasbora, trigonostigma hengeli.
