try feeding with tetra prima. that fetches mine out and the banjo's which are just as bad if not worse for hiding.

I dont think you are over stocked. But the rams dont do well with gravel as they sift the substrate through their gills so sand is needed for them. I would take these along with the frogs to your lfs and swap them for a couple of female gourami's. Looks nice by the way. :good:

feed twice a week. Turn lighting down to about 5 hours a day and don't worry about the water change.

yeh I think thats about right... I stopped mixing solutions I just add the salts straight to the tank now, much easier.

polystyrene fish box tape the lid on, they are water tight. Or a suitably large box with a lid on.

I think your problem might be the lack of plants and may be some tall bits of bogwood. The fish are keeping close to the ornaments and rocks for safety's. If you were to add some tall plants this might encourage them to swim higher. Some floating plants would also help.

I am a builder and when building houses we load out the floor joists with breeze blocks for the inside walls sometimes these can weigh upwards of 3/4 of a tonne so I wouldn't worry about a fish tank.

IMO your tank is already small for clowns BUT on your first post you say you will be upgrading in a couple of years. So now that you have already committed to clowns you ought to keep them in a reasonable shoal 6 minimum. That way they will be a little happier. And when you upgrade a 5 or 6...

Cardinals would be my choice, even with the shark. Add more clowns and you will see them more. I have 16 now and they are always on the go... great fish IMO.
