I have been injecting co2 for years, have also used easy carbo in the past for spot dosing bba without issue. Yesterday I treated with excel, as per the instructions. Three hours later my fish were gasping and not looking to happy at all. Had to carry out a quick water change and get some oxygen...

Could it be the temperature most shops I believe run their tanks at about 75 - 76 so a sudden shock up to 81 could have an adverse effect.

Some melt some don't. If you've had them a month I would have though they'd be ok now. The brown leaves are perfectly natural as mature leaves on some crypts do this. And yes if they did melt they would grow back.
