I would say that those reasons qualify as odd.

It's quite likely that they escaped. There is plenty of room around the filter. If so, they won't last long outside of the water. If you cannot find them, try placing damp towels in corners and along the walls. The frogs will be seeking moisture.

My highest achievement would be a tossup- either my having kept a few simple species of plants alive, or having bred a couple species of fish. Although the second one was really unintentional, and should probably be disqualified.

It depends largely on the hardness of the wood, the weight of the tank, and the type of legs on the stand. It could very well dent the floor where the legs are. If it were me, I would find a nice thick area rug to set the stand on, and/or, if possible, set the legs on furniture coasters.

When it gets big, please don't release it. Bullfrogs are invasive in many areas now, where they are eating other frog species nearly to extinction.

There aren't any lizards or newts that could reasonably be kept in a one gallon aquarium.

First, I'd go back about 40 years. I'd have today's copy of the Wall Street Journal with me, and would make a few choice investments. Then, I'd go back to the late 1800's, to see what the country and wildlife was like before so much was destroyed.

They should be fine. Personally, I would keep the water shallow so that the frogs could more easily surface for air, but it probably isn't necessary. I would recommend lots of aquatic vegetation for climbing, hiding, and resting. Do not keep fish with them.

Whatever you end up getting, it should not be released after it has morphed into its adult form. Doing so could contribute to disease and genetic pollution of the local population.
