Yes those waterchanges should be fine and when adding the bacteria add it directly into the filter intakes as it will then collonise the filter media much faster ;) As for the starving of your fish...............they will go quite happily without food for at least 4-5 days as when they are...

I keep a large betta with white cloud minnows with no probs at all and my tank runs at 26 centigrade so i cant see a prob with the minnows :D You could also try copper silver tip tetras blaa blaa lol as they are also in with the betta :look:

18 - 24 months is the normal life span of most livebearers and ive recently lost most of my stock of Swordtails Platties etc etc as they were at least 12 months old when i got them with a secondhand setup :D So yes i would say that 18 mths aint half bad m8 ;)

If you look back in time in the forum you will notice articles on transporting fish over longer distances, however most fish will survive in a bag for at least 3-4 hrs with no ill effects :D So get out there and get looking lol :P :laugh: 8)

Try Hikari algae wafers as these are the best :D , however i dont know if you will be able to obtain these where you are???????? If not give me a shout and i'll see what the cost of sending you some will be if you like ;)

Personally i doubt it im afraid :( However it could be something to do with the copper treatment you put in a while back :what: as i believe that with marines it is advisable to remove shrimp crabs etc before using copper treatments so i see no reason why freshwater shrimp should be any...

Many thanks for that like CM after looking on that site i have come to the conclusion that the fish i have is either.............. Crenicichla Proteus or Crenicichla Xingu (male) Although im not 100% sure so when my m8 lends me his diggycam i'll post a pic of him for all to see and make up...
