Good Site To Try To Id A Cory?

They might be wild caught, which is why they wont eat prepared foods. You might want to get some live blackworms to feed them too. Frozen bloodworms will not be enough IMO. You can try things like earthworm sticks too. I have some wild Brochis that were stubburn at first, but loved live...

    Tanks With Plants And Corys

Looking good. Im sure it was said already, but what kind of plants are those? I could use some easy, tall growing plants that dont require a lot of maintence and CO2.

    Raphael Catfish

Thanks for the comments :good: I had some in the past that were 6+" that I give away. Some reports say 10+". These have grown quickly, about 2.5" in 10 months, but I have also heard they are slow growers. The ones I had that were over 6" got that big in about 2 years. The ones I have now...

    Raphael Catfish

I got these fish about 10 months ago and just wanted to give an update. Here is a picture when I first got them: Here is the original topic: http://www.fishforums.net/content/forum/212579/New-Catfish/ New pictures taken today: They have trippled in size :D

I Had To Tell Somebody About This.

Congratulations on the new additions :good: I have also been after these cories for a while, but have not been successful.

    Corys

Corydoras will eat their eggs, especially the species you listed. Peppered cories are known for eating their eggs. As for them not spawning, it might be the fact that you dont have the right male/female ratio. The albino and peppered cories are among the easier species to spawn in the home...

    C. Napoensis Eggs!

Ok, I see. I was trying to figure that out. The only thing I can think of is maybe trying some Bio Spira. I dont know if you can get that and a lot of people dont like it, but I have used it with success, but I havent used it to fully cycle a tank. I used it along with some existing filter...

What tank are you trying to cycle? Do you not have a tank thats already cycled?

    Cory Died

Keep in mind C. arcuatus is one of the more sensitive cories. I bought 8 at the LFS once and oe of them died that same night. I went back and got replacement and they are all still alive today. Just keep an eye on the others.

I Am Getting Some Botia Striata...

I saw your loaches in the other thread. They look good. They will hide for a while, especially until they adjust. B. striata is a very socialable loach, so once you add more to the group, then they should come out more. The problem with parasites is the loaches may not show signs for a...

    New Panda Cory

Do you not have another tank? I have set up many tanks taking filter media from and existing tank to set up a new one. Be careful moving young fry to a tank that is newly cycled, especially C. panda. Congratulations on all the spawnings :good:

The only ones I have are the green and orange lasers. I dont have any of the others you are talking about, except for the C. venezuelanus and they are nice. I got a breeding group and they spawn non-stop. The green definately show the most color, but the orange are nice too. The C...

I dont see any problems with mixing them. A school of 6 C. metae along with C. panda will look great :good:

    Anyone Identify This Botia -please

If it is S. beaufortis, keep an eye on them. They will get very aggressive, especially as they grow. All the Syncrossus species are this way, not ideal for a community tank.

42 years? Thats pretty impressive, as is that C. sterbai group you have.

    A Most Proper Cory

Nice picture. Looks like a very healthy C. duplicareus to me too :good:

    Cory Suggestions

I also have a group of C. similis on a black substrate. They look great too. The dark substrate makes their colors darken up nicely. Same with the C. duplicareus. The C. guapore are also very nice. I have almost bought a group of them several times and still would like a group. You really...

    Cory Suggestions

I have C. duplicareus on a black substrate and they look great. I would suggest: C. weitzmani, C. similis, C. concolor, C. axelrodi, C. guapore, C. gossei something along that line. The C. weitzmani might be expensive, but a group that big of the Corydoras schultzei black will be very...

    Brochis Thread...

Yeah, that does look bad. I know they dig like crazy in my tank. It looks like yours are too and I think you are right that it has something to do with the sand. My biggest one always has a little spot on its nose, but it also runs into things sometimes and it goes crazy at feeding time...

    Need 2nd Opinion!

The only thing that would concern me is the water temperatures. Albino Cories (im guessing you mean C. aeneus) like water a little bit warmer then peppereds and pandas. I dont think its a big deal, especially if its only temporary. C. aeneus is a cory that can stand a lot of different water...

Good Site To Try To Id A Cory?

They might be common, but they are very nice. I had a group of 8 at one time and they spawned regularly.

Good Site To Try To Id A Cory?

I think they are Corydoras paleatus, which is one of most common Corydoras seen in stores... I dont think they are Corydoras longipinnis because they lack the high dorsal fin.
  36. Barracuda518

    What Is This?

They almost look like cory eggs. A closer, more clear picture would help. Are they still there? You said they were round? and in clumps?
  37. Barracuda518

Good Site To Try To Id A Cory?

Its not the smaller, more peaceful loaches that bother me, its the Botias. I dont think the kuhlis would bother them at all. This really applies to C. panda. They seem to do best in big groups in a tank thats not overly crowded. They can get scared very easily and are one of the more shy...

    Confused By Cory Behaviour.

I guess it can tell. You really need to get some more C. melini if you have the room. Yes, but they probably will not. If they do, dont save the eggs. It will be fine and shouldnt have any problems. Cories use their barbels more then their eyes. They actually have poor eyesight. They...

Good Site To Try To Id A Cory?

Yes, please get some pictures. You say small, did you look at all the smaller cories, like Corydoras habrosus, pygmaeus, and hastatus? Of those, I know Corydoras habrosus has spots. If you scroll over the names of the cories on this site: <a...
