Hi,

This is a photo of the underside of one of my plants.. It only just appeared the other day. What is it?? eggs? some sort of plant disease?? The fish I have are listed in my signature.

Pic

Thanks!

Look a bit like eggs to me, although they could well be parts of the plant that are rotting :) how old are they?

It's not rot because the circles are made up of tiny dots and they stick out. i thought maybe eggs but then which fish lay eggs on the underside of a plant.. and i didn't think they laid in little grups like that, I thought they scattered them.

How old are what? The plants or the fish? The plant is on bogwood and i've had it for about 3 months but it was in the LFS tank before that. The fish I have had most for around 2 months.

Certain fish will lay on the underside of leaves :) if its not causing a problem id just wait and see what comes out :p

I have been looking up to see whether any of my fish lay eggs in this way and it seems highly unlikely it is eggs.. unless occasionally cherry barbs scatter eggs in neat circles on the underside of a plant :( Oh well would have been nice to have eggs.. wonder what it is though??

That is Java fern and those are its seeds, over the next few weeks the seeds will sprout little roots and form into minature plants that will eventually drop off and float around the tank until they find a spot they like.
