Yeah I've been pruning and water changing every day. I keep thinning things out... It's getting scary in there. One thing though... that weeping moss from Lissette is going nuts. That stuff grows almost an inch a day. Sheesh.

Most LR is imported from the indo-pacific. It's cheaper and the collection laws are a LOT less stringent. Wait till it pops out to be 100% sure, but the purple tubes are pretty indicative of pipe organ. I love mine. It's a cool white-ish silver polyp with a lot of texture and movement.

Alright so this is my first crypt and I was wondering just how to plant it correctly. Do these tuber things (are they rhizomes?) go under the substrate or above the substrate?

So I trimmed the plants today now that they've had some time to settle. Lost the rosefolia completely. It turned to mush almost instantly... Ugh. Everything else looks good though (I think). Pictures of the new fishies tomorrow! All pruned up:

For the 8g SPS Garden - tons of flow, the gaudiest SPS around (ORA, Tyree, stuff you find, etc), and two or three little damsels (they naturally school in SPS in the wild and come in just as many eye searing colors as SPS). Just hardcore SPS, especially with the light. PomPom wouldn't be a bad...

In a tank this small is it viable to use the Nutrafin canisters on a 7 day schedule? One on for 7 days (fill the other day 6) then switch the other on for 7 days and repeat? Seems like a lot of CO2 based on the math in PARC... Especially because they say it's enough CO2 for a 30g tank.
