most LFS's will order them for you, if you want one bad enough im sure some of your LFS would lend a hand

as i found out, if you remove the eggs into a fry tank and feed them well 80% of them will survive, but if you leave them with the parents theres always a chance they will eat them, or even rear them until they want to breed again and chase them away or kill them leaving just a few scared...

i got one of those peacocks for 24£ but it was so small you couldnt tell, i was amazed when it turned bright red. most expensive was a breeding pair of Geophagus Brasiliensis. the male was over 12" which i know they shouldnt be they were 50£

yeah with more barbs in their group aggression is evened out amongst their own kind and not the other tankmates, alot like tiger barbs, the more the merrier, in which case if your tank is over crowded and the barbs need more room that would also be a reason for them being aggresive but im sure...

jen you have a zebra plec? they are really rare here in this town somebody walked into the local maidenhead fish shop took their only 2 (expensive ones) put them in his pockets, ran back to the car put them in a bucket and sped off. they must be amazing fish to go to this length

i wouldnt really worry, ive never had a quatantine tank and ive kept fish for the last 7-8 years. i just dont buy dodgy looking fish and the only desease ive had is white-spot that a course of myaxin easily cures

even the crappiest of filters can do their job perfectly with regular waterchanges, i overfilter all of my tanks with strong eheims but i still do weekly water changes just to help it out, so if cheaper is easier for you it dosnt mean its gonne hurt your fish and most certainly wont hurt your...

yes that is their baby markings, like red devil or midas cichlids which they share half their genes with. all cichlid fry are greyish with stripes so dont worry about that, just like red devils u will soon have nicely coloured fish =)

if youve used aquarium sealent then it wont be in any way harmfull as it is developed for aquariums. unless somebody else here knows otherwise
