Hi all,

I was just wondering if you could clear something up for me - my 30L tank is mirrored, but I didn't want that now I'm setting it up all new for a Betta (with rock, Mopani wood and real plants - it was all fake things and bright colours before!), so I have a roll background cut to size and fixed to the inside of my tank with aquarium sealant - It seems secure thus far, but is this definitely safe (I'm just cycling without fish at the mo)?

Thank you,

Tracey

Hi all,

I was just wondering if you could clear something up for me - my 30L tank is mirrored, but I didn't want that now I'm setting it up all new for a Betta (with rock, bogwood and real plants - it was all fake things and bright colours before!), so I have a roll background cut to size and fixed to the inside of my tank with aquarium sealant - It seems secure thus far, but is this definitely safe (I'm just cycling without fish at the mo)?

if youve used aquarium sealent then it wont be in any way harmfull as it is developed for aquariums. unless somebody else here knows otherwise

Should be ok, long as there is no way for the betta to get behind it.

No definitely not, it's very secure - sealant behind, and sealant around the sides too - but I'll keep an eye on it! So the roll-type backgrounds are safe for inside the tank, too? They won't leak inks or anything? Thanks for all your help, everyone. :)

Just to make absolutely sure and reiterate my last post because I'm very annoying (and paranoid!) :p - although the sealant is safe - the inks or something on the background roll itself wouldn't be a problem, would they? It's that plastic-y stuff from my LFS!
