For me, 4 $75 (USD) discus. I had to get rid of them, as about 6 months ago, we moved and I now have fairly hard water. They were great though.

Yeah, those discus can get really expensive, especially since you need more than 1.

Well, I spent $15 on a fish called a "Rocket Red Danio" or something or of that nature. The fish had just come in to the store, and wasn't a fish that they usually carried, and the manager wasn't quite sure what they were gonna sell them for just yet, but gave it to me for $15. When I was back in there 2 weeks later I seen the same fish for $30, so I got a good deal there.

Most I ever paid though was for my bristlenose pleco, which was $25.

i got one of those peacocks for 24£ but it was so small you couldnt tell, i was amazed when it turned bright red.

most expensive was a breeding pair of Geophagus Brasiliensis. the male was over 12" which i know they shouldnt be
they were 50£
