i dont add any ferts and my java mosses do great ..only started with small pieces ..tied them to bits of bogwood or dec they took great spreading out nicely ...some tanks i notice it looks different in richer green in 64litre yet thicker n fluffier in 200litre and dark n wirery in qt tank that...

have you done anything new to the tank of late ...any new additions ? or moved tank about ..mine go crazy if change a plant or dec ... they do like to chill ..some more than others ..if you make a small dip in the sand near the front they will sit in it ..seems to like lower areas .. my guess...

very normal behaviour sorry but u wont be getting any eggs from them just doing that im afraid ..mine tend to have a swim in their shoal often then what looks like a lot of piggy back riding ... when mine mate the male follows around the female ..he tries to get in front of her all the while...

forgot to add i would add a piece of smooth rock/stone as algae will build up on that also ..my corys n otos n bn love sitting on the rock n cleaning it ...

my friend has similar size tank and fish he added in this order black neons hatchets bolivian ram corys cardinals otos although he had done a fishless cycle the corys ,cardinals and otos took a long before he added these ,as most of these fish on list need a mature set up but he was told...

hopefully after a few regular cooler water changes and offering a bit more live food froz blood worm etc so it sinks for them ....they will be spawning in no time ... reason being they are tricked into thinking their having dry and rainy seasons like in the wild...dry season or drought means...

peppered corys are spawning again ...now tank is a cory only tank well planted and tons of eggs again so hoping to try raising them with parents .....the eggs/babies in qt didnt fair too well but i still have a few going strong ..unsure if filter had something to do with it ..now set up a sponge...

more than likely imo ........as cooler water tricks them into thinking its breeding time ..maybe you could do some more water changes with lower temp water ..that way it'll drop your tank temp ...and should get corys breeding ..

my corys tank doesnt go over 25 ... way too high 28 29 your lucky there not darting about or worse ...when my heater bust took tank high they wernt happy ..stick at 24/25

Out of curiosisty how long did you have your corys before you started noticing eggs? sorry never noticed this .... i got them around jan 09 i think ..quite small ...but were spawning before june 09..infact got 2 more juvies month or so ago they are spawning now also ..so dont seem long to...

more water changes using a bit cooler water than tank temp..plenty of live food ..always works for mine xx kaz x

my pref is the hailea as excellent filter n blue n white bulbs but its totally your choice both are very quiet n great tanks ..both still in use also ..so no hurry .. have pm'd you regarding filters n heaters .. dont have big boat in pic anymore as was too big for tank ..but plenty of...

also there are some other nice suitable wood i got this the other day from lfs for my 64litre cory tank ... soaked it for few days .. tied moss onto it ..added it to cory tank ..waiting for moss to grow but reckon its a cool looking wood .. so have a good look around as you can get some...

thanks ..the sands easy to maintain ..gravel vac keeps it tidy i used the make called roman gravel it was the finest i could find but cost £12.. big bag n £3. smaller bag i used 1 big +1 small for here....ive used this is other tanks had lots of gold flakes in 1 bag in prev tank ..very good...

hi i have a juwel 96 rekord very nice tank ..i purchased it 2nd hand and after quick clean up ..added new sand and decs and it runs great the filters fine at handling sand ..infact its a lot quieter than i was led to believe.. heres hows mine looks now .. i have inhereited some fish with it...

hi rob soz to hear about the xbox 360 ...apparently a sacred icon in my home ..microsoft are very good at actually replacing them after red rings as they fixed 1 of ours and it was back very quickly ...they also replaced headset when bust ...and my sons friends have had adapters etc replaced...
