Hi Alison sounds to me like you have got two females there,Ive got two females with one male,they vary their colours from a dull brown to a bright yellow as you describe,but the male is three times the size ,without pics I would guess that your two are both young ladies

I,ve got a slight problem with brown algae growing on the ends of my tank 90 ltr,also some on the rocks and plants,dont want to go down the chemical route to get rid of it,thought someone might suggest a fish that might enjoy a bit of algae, small plec maybe?

Looks like kribs are out then ,might have to give another apisto a go try them from a different source next time ,thanks for your input

Hi Amy,the whitespot may be in its cycle,the cysts drop of and are then free swimming,which is the only time any meds work,if it was whitespot you must keep medicating or else they will just re-infect your fish

Thanks Hanny,thats what I thought,but with shrimps, amanos, in the tank I dont know of any ich treatment which is safe to use with them,just thought, I could move the shrimps to a 10 ltr container whilst I treat the main tank, am I right in thinking the carbon should be removed from the filter?
