Now that the old tank is gone, time to continue the build. Got the basic frame work done on the stand, now time to start adding supports. I again Pre drilled all the holes and then used a countersink then used 3 screws to secure it all.

wait I can have both? I know that discus are related to cichlid's so I was worried the discus may try taking a few bites . now I am really liking the sound of discus and cardinals     Also there will be updates on the stand later today so stay tuned

currently I had thought of cardinal tetras and ch4rlie suggested discus and I really liked that idea

actually i may be doing just that, i like the look of a cardinal tank. but ch4rlie opted discus and I found a few I really like.

So bad ish news the tank doesn't fit as well as I had hopped, so to make it fit I sold my 65 gal tank complete with almost everything for 150$. The bad part is that I can't continue this build until that tank has been picked up. So another day of wasted time sigh

I was going to be putting a finished price in once the stand is completed, but so far 2x4s, screws, and wood filler has cost me 77$. As for the bracing yes it will be getting braced I was just exhausted and the roommates had went to sleep.

Update:   sadly today I said good bye to one of the young axolotl, as he/she passed away due to a fungus that growing. after losing him/her I emptied the tank and cleaned it out using a vinegar and water mixture ( about 65/35 ) then rinsed it really well. I also cleaned my heater, air stones...

Hey guys and gals sorry for the delay, holidays and all. January 3rd 2014 Eyes have now developed, as well as their external gills. Now just awaiting their front legs and for them to hatch :D

Interesting, but wouldn't this decrease the actual gallon % by about 1/3? It seems like it's quite thick and takes up a lot of room in the tank? It looks amazing though.

Well it's now 11pm and as promised It's amazing how in less then 12 hours something can grow eyes. Sorry for the bad pics my cell doesn't pick up super small things very well but they're there!

Here is today's 3:15pm update, one of the axolotl has began to really develop his whiskers or what ever they are haha a few are starting to get it as well but not as defined. Here is a pic and I will update again tonight before I go to sleep as they grow quickly :)
