check the label. if it contains copper, it will kill all your shrimp - also, if the treatment is blue, it will almost cetainly contain copper. melafix and pimafix are shrimp safe.

that seems likely, as they only need to eat every few days. they should keep the numbers down without eradicating them, and if they do, they'll airate the substrate themselves.

Crystal reds were bred from crystal blacks, which were bred from bee shrimp. The red is I think a recessive gene the parents voth carry. probably something similar for the white ones.

DONT USE CUTTLEFISH!!!!! they're bleached and cleaned with ammonia. and we all know what that does to inverts.

they look calciumy to me.... which is fine for hard water fish but... if you live on a farm, and use sprays/ fertilisers, I definately wouldn't use them. residues on them will kill your fish.

with kribs and bolivian rams? death sentance for the shrimps. once their shells are broken, everything else will have a nibble too. also, new plants will mean copper in the water which is also a death sentance for shrimps. pretty much, nothing could be more dangerous for shrimps than your tank!

not wishing to sound sad, but i think you're thinking of a different crab. these are Limnopilos naiyanetri. they're tiny and unable to attack things like corys. as well as this, they're filter feeders. they're not like red claws or anything......

my elephant snails have lost their antennae. there's no fish, just other inverts - shrimps and micro crabs. can they regrow their antennae, will it hurt them, and what may have caused it?

is the tank cycled? could there be any copper in the water? copper, ammonia and nitrite are deadly to shrimps. definately a macrobrachium.

If you fancy them buy both the crs shrimps and the sulawesis - they're both usually way more expensive. sent some to me if you want!

yes. he doesn't smell and he moves his door when tapped

one of my snails hasn't moved in days. i'm pretty sure he's alive, because the shrimps haven't eaten him. i'm really fond of him so has anyone got any ideas of why he's not moving?
