    Gouramis

No more aggressive than your convict and firemouth are gonna become. I think that for a 29 a non breeding convict and firemouth are ok but they will test each other on occasion. On the other hand the red in the gourami will probably annoy the firemouth and encourage more aggression from it. I...

    Compatibilisation Query

I would worry about both fishes. First if the convicts bothered the loaches they might get stabbed by the loaches face spines, secondly I think the loaches would be harassed to death if the convicts don't get nailed by the spine first. Also trying to keep two clown loaches isn't really the way...

What do you think of this for a 29-gal???

I really like the idea of a group of fish repopulating themselves without much intervention from the fishkeeper. The sponge filters are there so that they won't suck up the fry and to provide lots of microrganisms to the growing fry.

    this might sound silly but.....

No, a lot of people want these cichlids now, but you shouldn't have to buy shells unless you plan on keeping the fry. Shell dwellers should be sold still in the shell, if they aren't mention it to the shop and then leave. Don't waste time with shops that don't even try to keep there shell...

Can you overfeed a needlenose gar?

I think it would work, but the bioload is quite high all of a sudden, and the other fish might get stressed. I would suggest you remove the other fish OR you could set up a 55-gal for feeders and breed your own, cheaper safer and much, much more caring to the guppies. But you could if your...

    flaring just for males?

Flaring is for both males and females. Females will do it to establish hierarchys among oter females, and to impress males they are willing to breed with.

What do you think of this for a 29-gal???

I'm thinking of removing all of my rasboras from my 29 and just keeping my Badis badis in it. Then I'll remove the power filter and stick in two or three sponge filters, but hey what do you guys think??

    sea horses

There maybe but no0 one is really sure. It is rumored that there are some hidden in the middle east but no one has exported and expeditions to collect them have failed, but you never know. Anyway the natives are sure they are there.

    I want some oddballs

Wait wait don't decide yet. Why not try Badis badis badis. Great little fish not too small and not too aggressive get six for your tank. However they must be fed live or frozen food at least once a day. GREAT fish, get it is you can.

    Don't buy painted fishes!

 I agree it is very important to discourage the practice fo injecting fish. Remeber glass fish are the most commonly injected but some tiger barbs, gouramis and sometimes bettas are all injected!!

    just some silly Q's

All sounds all right. Fungus, uh two weeks minimum, maybe three, certainly you need no more than four. All the water changes are adding nutrients into the water and bacteria are blooming, so either stop the changes or allow the bacteria to bloom, they'll die in a few days.

    Hot Melt Glue

Why not wait for silicon sealant to dry. I mean that stuff only takes a few days there's no need to ruch when you put the lives of other animales (or your own for that matter) at risk. Calm down I'm sure your fish don't need a cave that badly, and if they do you should go out and buy one now. B)
