Hi, my lfs finally got in the pearl gouramis I ordered (yeay!) and says they are ready to be picked up today. Problem is he says they are too young to be sexed. I wanted to get either two females or a male and female pair this worries me. Any tips on sexing young pearls? Thanks

Pearl gouramis aren't usually aggressive, it's one of the rare kinds of gourami that it is OK to put one pair (male and female) together alone. So I am not sure what to tell you but for the golden gourami, there should be two females for every male in the tank.

OK, i'm back from the store and what I get is ColorBits Tropical Granules. It's made by Tetra, I'm in Canada but the company is based in Germany, so I'm guessing it's available in U.S. and Europe, too. Hope it works for you!

Gradual water changes (10 to 20 per cent) worked best during my war on algae ... at first I did a 40 per cent change which actually made things much worse. As I researched it, I found out that if you have lots of phosphates inyour tap water, doing a big change only fuels the algae. Good luck.

I've found my fish looks best when they are relaxed, (water is OK, they're not stressed etc...) but there is this type of sinking food I sometimes feed them that really makes their colour pop. I'm restocking up on it tonight, I'll post the name asap.
