    Platy

Have they been eating fine? And do you have a breeder box available to put the pregnant fish in.

    Platy

Well it should be within the next couple of days as that is quite a long time, do you have a breeder box handy? Id catch the fish and put her into the box so she can lay her fry, make sure there are no small holes they can escape through and depending on the other species in the tank transfer...

    40L stocking advice, newbie

40L could be perfect for a pair of dwarf pufferfish maybe, but this would most likely mean you will need a species only tank, other than maybe the amano shrimp. If you plan to buy live bearers take in to consideration the male to female ratio and try to have one, or no males to x amount of females.

    Preparing first tank

You may already know this but just in case you don’t , be sure to purchase a kit from your lfs so you are able to monitor the ammonia, nitrite and nitrate levels. Also depending on how your stocking your tank, those little snails may be helpful, I have 4 dwarf puffers in a 60L tank and they will...

    Amano shrimp

I have kept amano shrimp before in a 45 gallon tank, and they were extremely hardy and i got them before i even got any fish. They also won’t breed like crazy because they need brackish water to do so.

    Breeding corydorras

The eggs can de difficult to remove from the tank as when they are laid, they are attached to the glass, or whatever it may have been laid on so using a razor blade and gently scraping the eggs from the side of the tank is a good idea.

    Platy

Platys gestation period usually lasts about 28 days but it could be a couple of days out depending on the fish. They are live bearers so will give birth to fish, not eggs and I have had previous success with Platys by using a breeding catcher. Good luck with your baby platys! Would recommend...
