Yep, I do that regularly. I read the instructions to the filter again and I realised that every three months you need to dissemble the filter and clean inside - I have never done this, so this might be what is causing the problem. Thanks. :)

Yep, but it matters how small the dots are...I attached a photo of my copepods and people saw. But they might not even be copepods, so I guess you are right. :)
