Well there still could be some fry hanging out somewhere in the DGBT. Also back in the main tank if he's bubble nesting and they start breeding some fry could show up in there.

You can buy a pretty good size storage bin at Target, the dollar store, Lowe's for probably $5 if you hunt around Small air pump small sponge filter Some some airline hose (some stores sell it by the foot) And and a small heater I think you can find all that stuff for $30 I really don't have...

take the girl out and see if he will spawn with the others it sounds like there wasn't a proper nest due to the filter...? if he did made a viable bubble nest won't he tend to the eggs, like a Betta?

i wouldn't just ignore it. do the salt at least. what else is going on in the tank? do any other fish have "sores?" why do you think the fish is hiding? have you witnessed any aggression?

first consider what your water parameters are after that look at what fish are suited to your water supply then do your research on which of these species you like make sure you can meet the needs of the fish to give it the best life closest to the one they have in their native...

I'm not an expert...and it certainly sounds like a good idea to keep track of stocking, tank elements, water changes, etc., but how much time do you spend with the "checking" and "counting?" If these obsessions cause you to engage in compulsive behaviors that interfere with your quality of life...

That's actually NOT the tank I have... Regardless, I have used these both as a baffle for outflow in Betta tanks and filter for intake on fry and shrimp tanks. Pretty cheap... Under $3.00

Yes. They are about 6 weeks now and very tiny. My first batch of the Peacock gudgeons so I'll just have to wait and see. Probable when they double in size. From experience and observation of the Blue-eyes, they are growing at a much faster rate than the Gudgeons. I have a 10g tank cycled...
