Yes I'm aware that some of the fish will out grow the tank. When they get larger I will move them to another tank or trade them. Thank you for mentioning this though. Also the catfish is a Aluminium catfish :D

Well I read this.... "It should be remembered that the aim of this management is to reduce the ammonia to an acceptable level – not zero levels, as a continuous supply of ammonia is needed to encourage the growth of nitrifying bacteria!" Surely there is always going to be Sh1t in the tank...

What is an acceptable level of ammonia? is there one?

Hi thanks for replying. I believe the fish dying were to do with ammonia! PH and Nitrates/Nitrites were fine. The tank is cycling now, I have all sorts of tests. How long should I cycle it for?
