I can’t seem to get this stuff to go away. I clean it every week when I do a water change but it always comes back. What is it? How can I fix it?

Yes I understand. You don’t have to but I do. And with sand, it’s very difficult. Every tank is different.

That’s the problem, I can’t really gravel vac. I’m not trying to switch to not gravel vac. I’m used to gravel vacing and I want it to be easier

The reason for me is that I can’t gravel vac. I’m not doing this bc I don’t want to clean, I’m doing this bc I can actually clean when it gets dirty

I understand. The fish in my tank are big and eat snails so there is no clean up crew. My tank is full of mulm and I’m tired of not being able to clean it

Yep. I love them so far. Just hope they adjusted well as many people said they can be quite sensitive.

I HATE SAND. I have a South American tank with electric blue acara, firemouth cichlid, and convicts. Can I switch to gravel? Will it take out too much bacteria? How should I do it?

Yep. This is the biggest number of same tetras In the same tank so it’s very cool when they all swim together

Yep. Was surprised at how fast they all schooled together since they all scattered when I put them in. I drip acclimated them for that reason as people said they were sensitive to change.

Is that a good fine or bad fine?

I got them this morning and drip acclimated for about 2 hours. How are they looking?

Also, I feel if I buy them and leave them in the store and one dies, then I still will have to pay for it. Should I just take them home and drip acclimate for a long time and keep a close eye on them? If I talk them into just holding them without me buying them, then yes I will leave them in...

Went to my lfs today and saw they had rummy nose tetras. I was looking for them for my 29 gallon. They said they hadn’t got any since October. Anything I should now before picking them up tomorrow? I’m thinking about getting 8 of them.

I have a 29 gallon heavily planted. I have the lights on from 10am-2pm then from 5pm-8pm for a total of 7 hours. Is it ok that the lighting period is split?

The previous rams were in a tank with a 7.8 ph. These will be in a 7.0 ph

This would be gb and eb rams. The rams never lived over a week. 2 died that I had. I got another one and it died after only a week also. These were months ago. I know the ph is 7 but can’t say for GH. What temp would you recommend for rams?

So I’ve tried 3 rams so far. All have died. Our ph out the tap is 7.8. I have fluval stratum and it buffers the ph to 7. The lady at my lfs has the rams in a 6.5 ph but our hardness. She has had them for about 2+ weeks now. Should I take a chance on this ram?
