Hi there, My boyfriend is looking at upgrading his lights on his Fluval Roma 125l ... it currently has the standard 2 x 20Watts T8 bulbs with reflectors. He wants to start growing carpet plants (glosso, HC etc), and just be able to grow more of a veriety of plants in general really as he's...

Might be a silly question but I have no idea how "experienced" you are? How are you cleaning your filter pads/sponges etc? Not in tap water? but with old tank water? I wouldn't worry about how much water you're changing, I do at least 40 litres a week on my 125l and have done for over a year...

He doesn't seem to have trouble swimming with balance, more leaning on his one side when resting :( I am sure he has a slight lump the other side too :sad:

Managed to get a couple of photos

Hi guys I recently noticed Lotus becoming a little lazy, keeps resting alot. Just noticed he has a pea size lump on his side. I will try a get a photo of it. I keep his water very clean, its filtered, heated etc as most of you know. Any ideas?

Tank looks great! For a background I just use those big sheets of black or blue card from a stationery shop :good: cheap too :shifty:

How did you get your tank back to normal afterwards? How long was it before you could put shrimps back in? We did have some shrimp survive, they were a little frantic, spiraling around everywhere. We did a 50% water change, and then another 50% a few hours later, repeated this the next day...

Me and my boyfriend had this problem too, we purchased some plants and put them straight into our tanks and most of our shrimp had died by the morning :( we managed to save some by removing the plants and doing a few water changes but we lost some beautiful shrimp :( Cherry, Amano and 5 really...

If there's a chance you might be adding root feeders I'd put the kitty litter under the sand ready ... much easier now than later :fun:

Unless you're planning on growing plants that are root feeders? ... I have no idea what you mean by something under the sand :blink: Just wash it well and pile it in :good:
