    Mixing Cory's

Are they 3 boys and 3 girls? Normally they do all shoal at the start then as they get comfortable they split up a bit. Mine all still shoal probably 50% of the time. (And the other 50% of the time, they hide)

    Low Barometer Reading For Cories

Currently our barometer averages 1030hPa, but for the past 24 hours it has been about 1000hPa and my cories are going crazy! Even the ones that normally hide all day, are swimming up and down the glass. Hopefully that means that means there will be some eggs in the near future! I have read...

    Understanding Api Gh/kh Test

The tests dont work like that, hence my question, no colour charts. They say count the number of drops until the colour changes, then look up the chart.

    Understanding Api Gh/kh Test

Im a bit confused by my new API GH/KH test. I wonder if you can clarify... One drop of KH solution, and the water was light yellow. so i sopped the drops Three drops of GH solution, and the water started being greenish, so i stopped Does this mean I have 1dKH and 53GH?

    Serilizing Nets And So On

I have recently had some sick fish in one of my tanks which makes me wonder what what to do to make sure disease doesn't spread? I notice shops use some coloured liquid in a tub to soak their nets in, what is this stuff? I know some people will say bleach but I have yet to see evidence that...

    New Tank

If you have a good mix of guys and girls in the tank, and you look after it well and feed them to full satisfaction, you wont need to buy more, they will very likely make babies (: If you have lots of plants and java moss for the babies to hide in you will probably end up with a new few babies...

    Albino Cory Not Moving Much

Not moving as much as the others doesn't necessarily indicate a problem, it might just be grumbly (: Since you did not mention you have tested your water, the first thing I would do if I noticed strange behavior is test the water for ammonia, nitrite and nitrate. (Just because the other three...

    Cory Tank Mates

I know this is not what your looking for, but I think good tank mates for corys are more cories (they are great, I have like 60 cories at the moment, although the sterbais are working hard to increase that number by 5-10 cories every day... hehe).

    Adolfoi Corys...

Wow! Thanks for such a detailed reply, very informative and helpful! Its interesting about the two tanks with siblings that act different. (In my defense, in several of my tanks, the cories swim non stop when the filter is clean and running fast, and a few weeks later "appear" to be really...

    Adolfoi Corys...

I appreciate what you are saying, but are you really saying there are no typical behaviours. And secondly, nothing can be inferred by non typical behaviour? This doesn't seem to match my experience, however I know you have had more experience (:

    Keeping Corys In Groups.

Not all corydoras are suitable for that temperature range. I am using this temperature for a number of reasons. - The fish shop had them warmer, where they were very happy (believe it or not) - When the temperature was lower they werent that happy at all - Its well within the range of...

    Keeping Corys In Groups.

I have juliis and adolfoi in a tank at 26.5c, and they are all very happy, The julis (trilineatuses) are happier than the adolfoi, swiming up and down all over the place, all day every day, for months now. (The adolfoi are more tame)

    Keeping Corys In Groups.

I definitely agree when it comes some other species (tend to group together when you first get them, then slowly as they get used to the tank they split up and ungroup more)... However with my cories (i have 8 species) the biggest split I see is a group of 4 splitting in about half...

    Keeping Corys In Groups.

I have cories in all my tanks, I must say however, the tanks with greater than 8 cories are amazing, their behaviour changes greatly! With 5 or 6 they shoal together, sometimes really actively, sometimes not. When you have 8+ they kind of swarm over the tank (: Not trying to say you have to...
