Any Regrets? If You Could Do Your Tank Over Again

I would have gone with a better substrate for planting, more layered with eco complete(or similar). sand and then fine gravel :)

    Planted Tank Evloving

I dose the tank weekly with API Leaf zone liquid fertilzer and have laterite in the gravel. I am going to mess around with the dosing of leaf zone a bit, put in a few drops a day rather than more once a week.

Just won a second nutrafin co2 kit on ebay for £8.50 delivered (only used once). So more co2 on its way for my plants. Hopefully running two of these kits in my tank using a DIY yeast mix in both will give me a nice stable Co2 output. Been good with just one so looking forward to adding a second...

    Planted Tank Evloving

Just finished working on the tank.....sunday water change and clean out. Got rid of the plant that was going mad on the right handside of the tank (can't remember its name). Was making that entire corner too dark for my liking. Bought four new tropica potted plants today which are now in. I...

    ~~ Tank Diary ~~

Im sure my heater that is in my 4'x12"x18" is 300 watt if i remember correctly, so I would have said a 50 watt heater is way to small This link http://freshaquarium.about.com/cs/tipsandt...lheatersize.htm has some info on heaters

    Brown Algae ? Yet Again

Getting fish that eat algae is only covering up a problem IMHO. You really need to get to the route of why you are getting a lot of algae in the first place instead of buying fish that will eat it.

55 Gallon Setup Journal [update: 21/03/06] [severe 56k Warning]

Love what you have done with the heater etc, very tidy looking. I would presonally ditch the blue gravel for something more natural looking though

    Planted Tank Evloving

Cheers mate, doing a journal might be pretty cool. I got the plant from my local LFS. Im running two 38 watt T8's with refelectors (one triplus and one daylight plus) The tank is about 40uk gallons. Think im just staying pretty low tech to be honest, im only running one Nutrafin DIY co2 kit just...

Tank is ever evolving, with too many trips to my local LFS biggrin.gif Added another 4 amano shrimps today, which brings the total up to 10. Also got a couple of really big amazon swords to fill in the back left hand side of the tank. Aswell as this I got a potted plant.....Bacopa Australis...

Best Type Of Filter For A New 75 Gallon Tank?

I use an external Eheim 2224 professional and an internal interpet PF4 as the filtration on my 40Uk gallon 4 foot tank. You can pick the 2224 up these days for about £70 with all the filter media for it. I could probably just use one of the above filters for my tank but like to over filtrate...

    Aquarium Backgrounds, What's Your View?

Id go with black in a planted tank, blue looks better in marine tanks IMHO

Low Tech Plants With Oscar, Sd's, And Blue Jd

Id say all those fish will quickly destroy a planted tank. I used to have some tinfoil barbs and the only plant they didn't eat was a java fern. Everything else was destroyed soon after it was put in the tank.

    Water Change

Just finished doing my weekly water change of about 15-20% on a UK 40 gallon tank. Usually clean my internal filter sponges then too in the old tank water. The external filter sponges get done every two week or so.

Nice car mate, what BHP you putting out. I drive a seat leon cupra just now......not had the money to mod it apart from a different head unit and ipod interface. Car was rolling roaded with 197 bhp at the crank, so not to shabby for a standard car. Might get it remapped once its 3 years old if...

Cheers M8, I started planting the tank in early november last year, so some of the plants go back to then. Had a few that didnt do so well so stayed away from that kind of plant. Added the CO2 in january I think it was, maybe a wee bit later than that. Second light tube was added about two weeks...
