Is This The Best I can Do

For the cories you probably want to consider one for the dwarf species rather than Pandas. Its risky either way but an option would be to get the cories a few weeks before the betta. If you do it the other way around he may regard the tank as his territory and added fish may be seen as intruders.
well pandas are one of the smaller non-pygmy cories. They are also less shy.
IMO either would work out well. Just be warned with pygmys though (of either species). They are one of the shyest fish i know of. Just ask @NCaquatics. So just be sure to get 12-15 pygmys.
On second thought, just get the pygmys. Pandas like cooler water than the 79 bettas do best in.

I do agree with adding them first though.

I agree, on the first day of getting my lil Candy (before my current one), I had some fish in the tank before him and so he was fine with them, but he only claimed my anubias heterophylla as his territor and would chase away and flare at any fish that entered the anubias. Cute.

Yep, they are shy and therefore prefer larger numbers than 6-12, so get between 12 and 15 of them and some dense plants too.
Kuhli loaches are also very shy fish.

I'd say that they would be a MUCH better option. They are form the same part of the world (a big plus for me but that's just me) and enjoy the 80 degree water bettas like. But like pygmys they are shy so just be sure to get 8-12. And remember. The more the better (just make sure you have enough room for all of them)

I agree, and I believe a number of 12 would do fine.
@Salty&Onion how many pygmies would fit with the betta because it’s only 16long and 15 wide

I think I’ll go with 10 to be safe
I'm planning on setting up my 15 gallon back, it is 2ft long so I would be able to fit in about 12 pygmies with my betta, but they'll be going in first for about one week before putting in my betta there. And to my 7 gallon I will put in another betta

Is it the landen 7 gallon full view?
What do you mean? Its a bowfront cube tank and is placed here:
