I got my new tank, vast upgrade from the 20 gallon, it's a happy roomy 55 long.  Got some coconuts for a project as well.  Now in a couple weeks I'll grab a couple more scissortails and maybe some cherry barbs!  Excited!!!

Congrats. It's always good to get a new, bigger tank :D

It is looking nice! What is the plant list?

What is the stocking going to be?

the plants in there currently (always adding more) are two amazon swords, that's that really big one, and a smaller one I plan on attaching to some coconut.  Banana plants which you can't really see, a java fern and compacta on the driftwood, and some sort of anubias also on the drift wood.

Fishies at present are 4 blue rams, 4 scissortail rasboras, 3 adult guppies and maybe 8 babies, 2 kuhli loaches, 2 golden dojo loaches, 2 yoyo loaches, 5 indian whisker shrimp, a black apple snail and a nerite, and an army of trumpet snails (loach food!)

since it was a tank upgrade I just moved everything into the new one right away, it is however all of my old substrate (need some more to fill it out) my old filters, and old plants and decorations, and even all the water that was in my 20! Plus several thousand bucket trips to the kitchen more

and them loaches did NOT want to be caught

and speaking of loaches, one of my dojos seems to be "special" it likes to float vertical and be perfectly still...and then when I go to investigate it wiggles around like normal and nibbles all the bubbles off my hand. Silly loach.

Great tank! Hope you will be successful with the breeding project!

updated pictures, added some rocks, moved some stuff around, even put my small amazon sword in a glass "planter" aka repurposed candle holder. Added another scissortail and a couple pretty guppies, but sadly I had to remove one of my ram pairs, as one died (he was picked on and had a red gill, I moved him but it was too late)  and I returned the female of said pair because I didn't want a third wheel.  Thinking of grabbing a pair of kribs in the nearish future.  Full tank shot and a closeup of all the fancy stuff happening in the middle.

also want to get my hands on some nice home grown hornwart and guppy grass.

I have a 20 gallon and can hardly wait to upgrade as well. Looks great and coming along nicely :)

yes I JUST upgraded from a 20, I don't think I'll ever need bigger than this 55, also don't know where I'd put anything else! it does sort of sit smack dab in the middle of the living room.  I love it though it creates a nice divider and it's right behind the couch so you can just sit on it and stare at the fish for hours.  It's also a sleeper couch so it makes a very fishy headboard when folded out.  I love my fishies.  Now I just need to find someone localish who I can get a pair of kribs from and I'll be happy. the pet store charges way too much for them, I'll order online if I have to but I'd much rather find someone close.

More pics! or pic anyway...got my first coconut hut put in with it's stunning hair do!

it was a good thing I decided to check my filters while I was at it, I found my missing nerite blocking my bio wheel!

with the addition of my kribs, I had to do some rescaping, so here's the "finished" (for now) product!

I love my fish so much, I want to pack the tank upstairs with me every night so I can stare at them.

I want to get some sort of plant to fill in the middle area, I've got some guppy grass and more moss coming, any other suggestions?
