Nelly is letting me have some of his dwarf snakehead babies, cant wait to get my cuties

My new tank is ready to go, i've always been quite ashamed of my aquascaping attempts, but I am determined to make this one look the best it can & am starting to fill it & buying far too much for it

So I thought I would do a little diary type thing of putting it all together, then if anyone sees any problems with it, or anyways to improve you can tell me & I can do my best.

It wont be the best tank in the world & it will take a while for the plants to grow enough to look their best, but i'm looking forward to putting it together.

Today, it is a bit bare, I have been in the yard with the hammer & a large piece of donated slate, quite impressed with my hammering skills lol, I have also added some nice large polished pebbles & one spare artificial plant.

I'm off to pick up some rock tonight (donated again, thanks dad :)) I've ordered 2 decent sized pieces of driftwood, I forget how many silk plants & a few bunches of coldwater plants, some java moss & moss balls.

So will wait for them to arrive & add as they come.

Please ignore the random crap on the bottom shelves!

edited to add the finished tank, I think the background really works, the extra plants have filled it out loads as well, the little channa seem to really like it.

Thank you.

Little update, just collected a bucket full of lovely stone, my daughter is standing scrubbing it cause she is bored :hyper: lol.

Once the kids are in bed & hubby is out, I am looking forward to grabbing a glass of wine & playing about with all the stone & rescaping.

Nah dude, I don't even have enough time for the fish I have already. They are feeling a tad neglected I think, and haven't given them a water change since forever. I need to sell and my tanks badly, but everytime I get an offer something in my real life distracts me :(....

GET THE KIDS DOING THE LABOUR LOL I CANT FAULT YA. THATS THE ANNOYING BIT GETTING IT LOOKING RIGHT

awwww look at my little boy in the top picture, he's gorgeous :good:

Having trouble finding good quality rock, I refuse to pay £7.50 a piece, so we're off to the rivers tomorrow. All my plants are due on Tuesday/Wednesday, by Wed night should be all done. Will take another piccie after a play tomorrow.

Thanks for all comments :)
