Hi all! Please read previous posts for history of subject. Basically ive treated tank with methblue for what i thought was whitespot or fungal. But I actually believe since treating with methblue and a water change etc that its not whitespot etc as treatment is making fish worse and not helping. I did alot of reading and I believe its flukes, but what I need to know....... I treated tank 4 days ago with methblue....i did a 50% water change yesterday.....when can I add treatment for flukes...I will be using sterazin?????????? Please help!!! Anyone!!!!!! Fish need tending asap... Ive done salt baths etc etc etc.

Im honestly stumped on this one- I have answers just need to know if i can treat with sterazin yet...do i do another water change etc etc etc.....! My poor little gups I feel so bad for them.

what are the exact symptoms?
Post water readings please, are there only gups in the tank?
Methane blue doesn't usually harm fish, I believe, it's usually added to water to make it look blue and... cool looking... I'm sorry, I don't know the answers to your other questins, but I hope this helped a little anyways!

Hi. If you read my previous posts on saltwater...All the info is in there of all stages before this, all water stats etc have been perfect for weeks...I believe this started from an actuall fish or plant. I just need to know when I can commence treatment of sterazin...This is so frustrating, do people really have this many probs when it comes to fish...or fancy guppies? In future all new fish will be quaretined, and all plants washed in sterazin for 2 hours. No more nasties once these buggers go. I will rear my fry and use them to breed healthy fish. Fingers crossed...cant wait to get to a healthy tank and fish stage.

I hope I dont seem to blunt...Im just stressed with what to do about my tank and poor little fishes.

Doesn't carbon pull out the chemicals in the water? So you could run a carbon filter cartrage for a while and then you should be fine to put in the new medicine. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Yes carbon does. So all you need to do is put carbon in your filter and then take it out hours later and add the new med.

Hi Just wondering if water changes and turning gravel filter up would do the same...if i keep water changes to 35% and make temp similar would that be affective on day two...I had to do a top up today anyway...! Checked all levels today... ammonia = 0, Nitrite = 0, Nitrate = 20, ph = 7.0. Temps are 28. I know what caused the problem I have in my tank = Saddle back Columnaris. I just posted an article in Common livebearers. Thinking i might do a water change tomorrow in the morning and treat in the afternoon with Melafix. ive given fish salt baths today and yesterday, badly infected fish i left in the soak longer. It seemed to help them yesterday so thought would try today...to help while waiting to treat with right meds. Seems I probably caused this myself by turning temps too high therefore bacteria can breed. DOH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! As my3 year old daugher would say...She loves Homer! Damn! I say... My poor fish I tortured them and stresed them into disease... :(
