WOW! It looks amazing!

You will be very proud when you have some fish in there.

Are you going to go fishless?

i have a 7" pleco in my 20gal and he is quite cramped in there, if you have read this diary all the way through you will know that i have added filter media and some water out of my 20gal. and a few flakes.

i was going to ask you if it would be ok to add the pleco in to the new tank now?
or is it still too early?

thnx in advance :D

a 50w heater aint enough for a 2ft tank imo, that tank looks about 4ft so you will need a bigger heater if it is 50w. That chart thing PaH have is bare min, dont skimp on heaters you should have 1watt per liter.

i agree. more gravel. you spent £1.99 for a lil bag of PaH gravel? just go to B&Q and get a bag of playsand/sliversand much finer and cheaper @ £3.49 for 25kg!! more than enuf. mix that with your expensive gravel already in there, and it will look bloody good IMO.

LOOKing GOOd tho M8, will KEEP watching!

i thought it was a bit weird, petsathome told me that it would be fine, so i bought it.
i have a 100watt heater in my 20gal which came in with the tank, shall i swap the heaters around, put the 50watt in the 20gal and the 100watt in the 39gal, the 39gal is at the right temp even with the 50watt,do you think it would be better to swap them around?

thnx for the advice :D

hi, went to maidenhead aquatics earlier on, to get some rocks for my new tank, while i was there i just had to have alook at the fish :D cant resist  i came across a pair of kribs for £15 for the pair (rip off) so i kept on walking and came across some high fin platies, i have never seen these fish before, they are cool looking.
while i was looking the shop assistant asked me if i needed some help on choosing the fish, "i didnt go their for fish", he asked me what setup i have and i told him that i have a 39gal with a fluval4 filter and 2 air bars, he asked how long i have had it setup for and i said just over a week, and then he said "well we have a deal on at the moment with these platies, 4 for £3, i asked him if they would be ok in the tank i have and he said yes because they are hardy fish and can settle in quickly, soooooo i bought them, heres some pics they are really cool fish :D i put my other female platy in the 39gal aswell because i thought it would be better for her being with other platies than on her own :) the micky mouse platy is the 1 i put in ive had her along time now just over a year i think

1 more cant fit them all on 1 page too big :/

i like this 1 the most, it has a metalic green on his sides and long top fins and tail fin.

tell me what you think, i think they are quite nice :D they have been eating so i think they are ok

Did you swap the heaters around , or are you waiting untill you can afford a bigger wattage for your tank.
Personally i do think the 50W is too small for that size tank. I have a 213litre (95Lx45Wx50H cm) tank and use a 200W heater, does the job very well.

any more updates as yet ?.

interested on how the tank is coming along.

yes hairyhaggler i have changed the heaters around the 100w is in the 39gal and the 50w is in the 20gal :D

hoping to get some plants and rocks soon, I HOPE :/
