hi since i bought the gravel and heater and new filter media about 4 hours ago ive added it all and this is what it looks like now.
i no the gravel isnt level but im not going to fiddle around with it now, because if its ok i might add some plants
with the new filter media iv added 1 of my pads out of my other tank to help the cycle, ive set the heater to 77f
hope the cloudy dissapears i washed the gravel for hour and a half
ill keep the post going, ill add some more things in the week, like my bubble bar i have ]
dont level off your gravel. it looks far more natural with various dips and rises etc.
What you will need to do though is add MORE gravel. From what I can see in your pic, you only have a thin layer of gravel (particularly on the left hand side) and you are going to struggle planting any plants.
I would personally add the same amount again as you have already to give a good bedding for your plants.
yes lol an airstone im getting 1 more the same size because my rena 400 has 2 outputs to have a big bubble wall.
the gravel is sand well thats what it says on the back of the gravel bag.
Just to let you know the heater does best near an area of high water flow i think e.i. near the filter. And im not too sure a 50w heater is really enough for a tank that size.
P.S if you put the heater and filter togeter it also looks neater IMO.
