They're rare everywhere!

The only Zebra Plecos you will find in the trade are those bred by people who have established breeding setups before or just after the export from Brazil was banned. As such they can charge massive prices as people are prepared to pay for it.

there worth much more about £180 is a good price but there are lots of fake look alikes nowadays

Rare they are, but not unobtainable at the right price. Wholesale tropicals in London had a couple for a few months now (not sure if they are still there though) nice sized adults too - but at £170 each, out of my league ! And as I can't provide a breeding setup there's no point either. I don't think anyone should keep them (in their current endangered state) unless with the intention to put into a breeding programme.
