I went for other as I use various sources
I use mongobay, & fishbase as the main ones. I also
use search.com and typein the scientific name of the fish.

EDIT
Search fishbase
mongobay home page

Did you not forget an rather important option? HERE!!

If I need to know about a fish I generally search on here and the other forum I go on, look in books and google it.

:)

IMO, using one source is not good as information can often be wrong, especially with the Internet.

To be honest, I find that this forum is the best place for info. There are an awful lot of members here with loads of experience and they can answer peoples questions exactly instead of looking through websites/magazines for articles close to my query.

I go to www.aquahobby.com and read many different Fishkeeping books. My brother is also helpful, sometimes ;)

'other' for me too...

this forum and google mainly.

that fishbase one looks good Danio, I didn't know of that one.

I search for infoon google, then look it up on fishprofiles.com, then i do a search on here to find past thread about the fish...then if there's anything I'm not sure about I make a new thread here to ask about it.
I don't trust liveaquaria because their "minimum tank size" bits seem way, way off.

I usually just go to the shelf and look in one of the many books i have in my aquatic library and then use google to check information further.

I agree with galaxy!!

Before I found this forum I would search and search for information on google and get so frusterated because I couldn't find exactly what I was looking for. I find it's so much easier to come on here and ask a specific question and get a reply straight away.

I use google too like if I'm trying to find pics of certain fish or a website with a lot of information.

I am really glad you posted some sites though I'll have to check them out. Everyday I come on this forum I learn more and more!!

Mostly we research via:
Planet Catfish -rating: 9/10
Or in our Books:
The Baensch Aquaruim Atlases Volumes One, two and three. -rating: 10/10
Aqualog The Puffers of Fresh & Brackish Waters -rating: 10/10
Aqualog All L-Numbers Second Edition -rating: 10/10
Aqualog All Coradoras rating: 10/10

And this excellent forum we've found: www.fishforums.net -rating: 10/10 ;)

It depends on what I'm looking for. If I'm just looking for basic species information as to their living conditions, then I *used* to primarily use fishprofiles.com - til they said that rams needed a pH of 5-6

I LOVE mongabay and nave now also added fishindex.com to my list as well. I also like planetcatfish for cory info b/c they have thumbnails of all the corydoras species.

If I have a more in depth question then I will google or look here
