Your Single Most Useful Item

I'd have to say my aquarium vacuum. It makes life 10x easier. Before I had it, I spent 3 hours doing a not so effective water change on one aquarium. Now it takes me maybe an hour to do all six (or seven?) of my aquariums.

Hah!!!.. & just this afternoon, I "manufactured" a second syphoning device, allowing me to empty the tanks twice as fast.... refilling, however still takes the same time, but I managed to water change 17 tanks today (90%)... This is progress!

It has to be one of the Maidenhead Aquatics Acclimator Units. Such a Great invention.
Just pour the fish into the Holding Section and let it fill up and release the fish by sinking to the bottom of the tank once full.

Yet another new invention on me... never heard of it, but I can see the usefullness!

I'm afriad i still have to do water changes the old fashioned way and with 5 tanks that can be some work on w/c day! (sundays). With my 20gal i've been doing numerouse w/c a week to keep the tannins down from the huge amount of monapi in there. ATM my most useful gear would be my homemade cleaning kit. x2 7litre buckets x1 7litre jug water syphon and a dishcloth used only for the tanks of those items i couldn't pick because i use them so often

But when i purchase it my ultimate god send will be a simple 15metre peice of hose with a tap attatchment at one end :shifty:

Bliss

i cant actually say one thing tbf....

my spatular? very good at turning sand

i have to ask, can i see a pic of a "python" and "acclimator unit"?

these are new ones on me too

well after a think i would have to say at the moment is the turkey baster  doing daily w/c on fry tanks,no matter how careful i am i always stuck up fry.... the turkey baster has been a god send :)

For Ludwig, a turkey baster is a tool for pulling fat from a cooking pan and using it to baste the cooking meat. It is little more than an oversized syringe that uses a rubber bulb to create the small partial vacuum needed.

One of my best buys...the good old turkey baster!

Also fab for putting defrosted brineshrimp/bloodworm etc down to the cories :p :D

i would have to say it was my mag7 pump.

this was just an extra return pump i picked up as a back up. but after connecting it to a big vinyl hose (or a regular garden hose)i can drop it in my tank, plug it in, and do WC on my 6' and 8' tanks in about 10minutes. :good:

I'd have to say its the smallest net I have N milk pitcher.

When I clean my tank I put the pitcher hanging inside the pail with the net on top of the pitcher, when I syphon, all the poop gets caught in the net and some falls inside the pail while all the sand stays in the pitcher, I just dip the pitcher inside my tank when the pail is full and all the sand goes back to my tank. Makes cleaning a lot easier.

Turkey Baster sounds interesting too, I'll try that.

here's my maidenhead acclimator unit-good idea, worked fab for my pygmys, but beware if you don't want lfs water in your tank, its best to remove the fish before it eventually sinks down into the aquarium.
