Your First Fish

A common plec, in a 70litre, she's (I believe) still alive today. (No longer in the 70litre).

before knowing what we were doing hubby and I had mountain minnows who survived a housefire in the same room! Tough little buggers.

when we started getting serious (ie my fish mad son who was 2 at the time) kept insisting all he wanted for christmas was a fish tank with fish in it we got a second hand tank (we still have) from a breeder with nearly everything included, our first zebra angel and rtbs was two that stand out. he gave us some great advice then we found this site and learnt a whole lot more, but we've been keeping fish solidly for over 4 years now.:good: We Do actually research beyond here of course, buying good books and other sites and experience! :p

2 Guppys only one made it through the cycling.

I can't really remember. I have had a fish tank (thanks to my parents) up and running since before I can remember!).

I distinctly remember a dalmation molly giving birth on Christmas morning, though, and that was cool! (But shortly thereafter she ate all of them- slightly less cool!)

I do know I have had my ten gallon fishtank up and running since before I could remember, though I recently had to replace everything because it was getting old and everything was breaking. 10 odd years isn't bad for a fishtank, though, is it?

My first fish was a goldfish called Winnie because I won it at a fair. Survived for quite a few years in a tiny plastic tank (sorry Winnie :( ). My first tropical fish were five guppies, collectively known as 'the little uns'.

well, i think my mum had goldfish for a few years, and also a Siamese fighter which i got to look after, that spiked my interest so i went out and bought some axolotls hehe. man i wasn't ready for that, too filthy.

Ah my first fish. My first fish was a black normal pleco. My parents (being fish breeders themselfs) bought the fish the day i came home from the hospital (when I was born). He lived tell my 13th birthday when he finnally gave up on life. I thought I was sure to die, bad luck being the fish your parents bought you for your BIRTHday died on your 13th. Other than him I guess my first fish were also my parents they (to this day) breed guppies. Guess I've come a long way from a Pleco and a few hundred guppies to a Picasso Trigger and few hundred bettas.

my first fish, were 5 zebra danios!!!!!!!

got them a year ago to start my cycling process, and all the little buggers r still alive and kicking a year on :D

they started gettin clever though, and jumping into my breeder trap, always gotta fish them out in the morning, dont touch my fry though so all good!!!!!

My First fish were 2 "brickwag" swordtails,in a 10 gallon tank,after about 2 months I got a 55 gallon and moved them into that.........Now i have 33 fish spread over 3 tanks,a 55,30,and 5 gallon

had a six foot tank when young dont know Litres as was too young to think about that, had loads of gups, more gups, and even more gups, followed by gups that had gups, who had gups
also remember pleco that was my mums she sold him when he was about 11 inches long to pay for a phone bill that i had run up on chatlines late at night-whoops! had a child lock put on the phone for years afterwards, still have phobia bout using her phone when going to visit .
i wasnt a good child but my brother was worse he tried to feed my gups with cat litter as revenge for me snopping in his room.......sod

Can't remember which came first, had a sort of general community. I know danios were involved at an early stage, and neons, and black mollies.

A Siamese Flying Fox, a corydoras Julii and a Corydoras Aenus, who were shortly joined by 6 lemon tetras. 2 and a half years down the line, the only casualties are the flying fox and 1 tetra. (note: before anyone points it out to me, I no longer keep corydoras singly, only in species groups :good: .)

two fancy goldies but i found them to be very weak so i went to tropicals and i love them
