I was sitting in front of the 180g looking at my new tandas catfish when the big black shark came over to look at me, then out of no where my 5" CAE swam out from behind a cave and swam upto the shark really fast! the shark who mind you is 17" turned around and tryed to grab the CAE but he missed then the CAE latched onto the side of the shark biting him a good one the shark lost its temper and flung around knoced over a large rock on top of a cave, he then dived for the CAE but he was to late as it swam off and as the shark dived into the cave he knocked the cave apart, man it was like somthing out of a movie! a big black shark ripping the tank apart to kill this little thing! it was pretty funny to watch though and it happend pretty fast! wish i had a video camera.

whoa!thats awsome!and you didnt take a vid!what a crazy CAE

I doubt that will be the last "fight" you see, CAE's are notorious for attacking the slime coat of other fish, more common with slower moving or flat bodied fish though. I would remove them if I were you, imagine the damage that shark could cause if one of those falling rocks hit the side of your tank :hyper:

True but the tank is 1" thick, but there is always fights in that tank. CAE's are agressive but they always end up dead i have had them kill angels before but when they pick on my fish i usaualy see them dead :D they dont stand a chance in the tanks.

both CAEs and BSs are well known for having foul tempers, I'm a little surprised that this is the first fight you've seen.

Expect that sharks to do some srious damage to his tankmates as he matures, and adult CAEs are simply demons with fins.

Sounds fun.

I enjoy watching my cichlids have a fight. The blue acaras and firemouths quite oftem lip lock with 1 another.

And it's funny when my oscar tries to start on my big gold sevrum but he rules so poor mister oscar has no chance.

As long as there's no damage i enjoy it when my birchirs started biting tails i was worried.
