Yet Another Id Question =(

thats weird  . although the first site does say that there are several variaties available , and the one fish in the backround looks a lot like the one in question -perhaps the central one is a male , and this guy has 2 females ( my apologies for referring to you as " this guy" , its 3 in the morning and im browsing the african cichlid section  ) .

lovely fish whatever the outcome :fun:

I have 1 male & 2 females  ... I thought I have 3 females, considering if it was a Copadichromis borleyi cause of the coloration...but they are around 2 inches now, with the biggest maybe 2.25 or 2.5 at most...

What caused you think I have a male?...Again I apologize for the poor picture quality

P.S. - Thanks guys for the research

no , i was referring to the fish in brewyns link -as it looked nothin like the borleyi in the other link - i mentioned that it could have been a male , what with its more splendid colours - and that the fish in the backround in this link looked alot like yours - and so could have been the " female " .

I think the fish in that link is a mistake, I and 3 friends of mine have the borleyi yellow fins and there nothing like the fish in question. both the males and females start off with silver bodies.

here's my male.

and here's my female. juveniles are the same colour as the adult female.

I hope we can find the true identity of the fish in question because if its not a hybrid then I want, I want, I want LOL

I have seen lots of different "shades" of Borleyi but never with fins that orange. Oasis (my LFS) currently have some very deep blue Borleyi but the fins are still yellow.

I've never seen anything like that  :/ , im all for a borleyi/hybrid

brewyn, two of your fish are fighting in the second pic  , at the bottom of the picture, or is that some some fish love? :p

not sure what that is, looks like its kissing nose. I think its a bigger fish in the background and the 2 have fused together, bit strange as none of my happs are showing aggression so far, there all at peace with each other, its only the labs that display , and its only the labs that have fry in the tank. seriously need to get off this site, and onto a site that will teach me to take descent photos LOL :good:

lol, its not a bad photograph, its just how the fish were at the time, the kinds of things you cant help..

can anyone identify that fish yet? i tried researching.. got nuthin
