Hi, I've had my tank up and running for a couple of months, first set of fish went in almost two weeks ago, all is fine but I went away last weekend and my housemate looked after the fish (feeding/turning the light on and off) - the stones at the front of the tank and the glass at the front has gone all yellowy. Also some white stones I have in the tank at the front have all yellow stuff on them. Is this just algey? Is there anything I can do about it? I have an algey scrub brush thing which clears the glass but what can I do about the pebbles and big stones?

Hmm, I'm not too sure on yellow algae.

Do you have readings for Ammonia Nitrite, nitrate and pH?

If everything checks out, I'd say just take the larger things out and scrub them too (preferably with tank water, though I doubt tap water will do too much harm).

:dunno: Yeah I've checked all the levels and they're fine. I did my usual weekly water change when I got back, it doesnt seem to have got much worse but its no better. I've put a pic of the big stones in, its more annoyin on the little ones and the bits on the front of the tank I can't get to! Any help appreciated.
