Hmm. I got my baby a new tank- I think it's about 3.5 gallons- and I thought of getting some heating for it. I got him a thermometer, and the water is only 60 degrees F! What can I do? His color is a duller since he got his new tank (the other one had a strong lamp for heat). The problem: it's a "pet-pen" tank! It has a place on the lid for a specific pet pen light(which I have), but the water is freezing! I don't want him to be uncomfortable! But b/c of the shape of the tank, I can't find a heater for it at Petctera, PetLand, the GP Pet Shop, or PJ'S Pets! Do I need to get him a new tank? I am willing to, but I can't afford a rectangle one until probably December! What can I use for heating until then?

HEEEEEEEEEEELLLLPPPPPPP!!!!!!!!!!!

Any chance you can put him back in the old tank till you sort out the heating?

Does he have a filter? If yes, simply covering the tank will work, the heat from the impeller keeps my betta a 78. If no, you might rig up a little pump (and maybe a sponge filter, while youre at it) to keep him warm. You can make a reeel easy sponge filter with a Discard-A-Filter by Lee's. I dont reccomend you discard it, tho, since u'd lose all your biofiltration.

This is what I am using in my 5 gallon, I just got one off ebay. There used to be one in my 1 gallon I had a looong time ago and it worked great. Heres the link to one.

*Just noticed you had a PetLand, we have one here in Tyler, TX also. I thought with it being so small that it was independent or something but I guess not. Great store with knowledgeable people
