Worst Way You Have Ever Kept Fish

My first tank was a one gallon tank which I put a fiddler crab, a African frog, an apple snail, and a guppy.
First, the guppy died.
So then I got a betta. That lasted for a little while.
Then my snail died, and while fetching him out of the tank, my fiddler crab escaped.
Thinking that he would go back into the tank when he needed to I left the lid off, and woke up to a dead frog.
Thus leaving me with a betta.
All this happened within a week.

Then a month later, my betta died at unknown causes. Probably parameters as I didn't know to do water changes or anything like that.

:( Bettas my whole childhood and never kept correctly. I at least always used dechlorinator and def. underfed rather then over. But I had kept them in Vases with large gems with plants on top....that at least must have been nice for the betta as he always swam in the roots. But no heater, no filter, no variety in food, Clean water after evaporation was starving the plants. *sigh* :X A lot of regret going on right now!

well in all the "upper class" designer stores, they always have a betta vase or two, and they always look so neat as a child. So I can see where one would want to replicate the set-up.

I had a huge betta bowl that I kept a betta pair in. Their death was because of the water temp fluctuation while water-changing. It stressed them. They died almost instantly then. I basically didn't pour enough cold water to chill it down AND the temp place for the bettas had colder water than the bowl. -_-

Barely this year I found out that I shouldn't have kept a betta pair, as I was risking that they'd start a fight. Though they made a nest and even spawned instead. But the eggs didn't hatch even after a week. They were placed around the filter sponge (had this weird type of filter + airstone that was hanging near the top) in a betta bubble nest.

And also, I guess there will be no way that I can make up for my mistakes of the past. I'll have to give up fish keeping soon.
Managed to convince my mom that I need a new aquarium and certain equipment - good so far.
Didn't get paid so far due to business not working right - bad news, I might not even get paid, just when I managed to convince mom to allow me to keep fish correctly.
Only one more day before I'll have to make an announcement to give away all 3 of my fish to some random person. -_- Sometimes, the problem comes from where you least expect it.
