Worms and holes in betta fins

Another update: some water parameter I can't measure normally must have changed between my previous tank and my current tank setup. Although the little white worms/creatures have come back, their population has not completely overrun the tank and my betta has not had any symptoms which is a big relief.

GH: 25 - 50 ppm
KH: 40 ppm
pH: 6.8 - 7.0
I can't tell exactly what numbers because I use Tetra Easy Strips and they aren't the most accurate.

The white worms could be detritus worms which are completely harmless
