my snakehead [channa striatus] has lost his right eye! only has oen now, wil this make him a less eficiant predator? or will he likely carry on to live his life as normal?
i was just wondering.
replys would be apreciated regards tuurlijk

Should be fine, but I would be more worried about how it lost the eye!
Eyes dont usually just pop out for fun  my guess is a tank mate done it, so theres a high risk it will take the other eye also.
Might be worth looking into maybe :S

yeh i agree cos i had a guppy and my keyhole ciclid pecked one eye out, den his back tail, den his ova eye, unfortunatley for me he was still alive wen he had no eyes or tails !!! disgusting luckily the bastard fishes have been taken back, o no my bad it was a paradise fish that dun it.

oh i moved him to a safer tank....
it was my male convict/sajica hybrid trying to stop odin from eating his babys...
i jsut wondered if he maybe would need any special help

I wouldn't think he will need any special help feeding if that's what you are getting at. I only say this because he's living in a very controlled and finite space in your tank. If this sort of thing had happened in the wild it would almost certainly spelled disaster for the fish.
