wierdest fish?

Well I have confirmed my assumptions, the wirdest fish ever is me, a homo sapiens LOL.

stonefish
any of the deep sea fish

leaf fish
any trigger
red snapper
long tongs

hillstream loaches

I know many people find them weird but i think they are awesomely CUTE !! That is cowfish and boxfish, if i was ever to set up a marine tank it would be for one of these little guys;

boxfish are some of the coolest fish ever. cowfish arent that great in my eyes. they all just look emaciated

There is a species of crawling batfish that has an extremly eerie face, it almost looks human. That one is probably the most messed-up thing I have ever seen.

How about this beastie then:

Phreatobius sp. 1 (at Planet Catfish)

It's a catfish that only lives on land, in leaf litter. If you throw it into a stream, supposedly it jumps back out. It's certainly an ugly little spud.

I've just noticed that all of these (that I've mentioned ) and most of what you guys wrote are marine or brackish water fish.

Oh I saw that one on the discovery channel in the show Amazon Abyss

i reckon the wolf fish is dead ugly man ill have to find a picture.......have you seen the teeth???

i saw one at my LFS. it wasnt that big but those teeth were BIG

Yep wolf fish are prety weird as their teeth continue down the throat and into the stomach.

thats actually much more common that you think. oscars for example have teeth in the back of the throat if i'm not mistaken

No cyprinid has jaw teeth, teeth in the throat called pharyngal teeth crunch up the food as the fish swallows it.

wolf fish aren't weird or ugly they are cuddly cute

I'd be suprised if anyone had seen the fish in the picture above in a fish store, that is a Atlantic wolf fish (Anarhichas lupus) a cold water marine fish found in deep costal waters of the Atlantic ocean. The wolf fish people have seen in fish stores are most likely Hoplias malabaricus which is a predatory Characin from the Amazon basin, they still have teeth but are a long way from having jaws to match those of the marine wolf fish.
