If he looks fine i wouldn't but the other plec dosn't sound well and if you don't act fast you could lose it, has the plec got whitespot too, as it's not really recommended to mix meds, whats your location, though it sound like the US.

I'm in Northampton - merry old England.

I won't do Scott then but Nessie needs something :( I don't want to lose her, she's beautiful.

Don't add the full dose just start of with half a dose to see how she takes the med, anti internal bacteria med by interpet, if she has whitespot to just add half of that med too, you will have to have an airstone running with the meds as it will reduce the 02 in the water, if she starts of act differently you might have to dilute the med down with a water change.

Thanks great info, thank you.

We will get her some anti-bac tomorrow and give her a go with it. Do you have a prefered brand to use?
I used "Aquarium Treatment 6 - Antiwhite spot" (Interpet) for the spot, will their no. 9 "Anti internal Bacteria" be ok do you think?

ok, I meant can I use them so soon after each other.....you already said use Interpet, duh Sue...

Yes that's fine the anti internal bacteria med by interpet., good luck, keep a close eye on her as plecs are very funny with meds.

hi sorry to hear you Plec isn't well. It maybe just adjusting. Have they a place to hide as they do not like to be on show?
They have special food you can get just for them, also they love Algae wafers they are not expensive and if you use them as a supplement even cheaper.

I wish your plec well.

How's the poorly plec doing.

Well, she's still sucking about, someone ate a big chunk of cucumber last night and we hope it was her. We got the No.9 and treated her with a half dose and she did ok with that, no adverse effects that we can see. We got some sinking catfish food and some pleco wafers as well as the other stuff to see if we can temp her, but she isn't hiding in her pipe, she's out and stuck on the filter in her usual position. Scott is in his big shell, sucked on to the roof, but Nessie looks active enough. Of course I don't know what colour she was before she was sick so she may just be a dark fish and it'll always be hard to tell by her colour but we'll wait and see.

I really am grateful for your help, we didn't know what o do to make her better and we really feel like we are actively doing something now. Even if we have a sad result - which is looking less likely :) - at least we got her out of that nasty tiny aquarium in the shop and she got to spend some time cruising in the wide open.

Good hope she makes it, good luck.

Thanks :) We got her a new heater today, she's grazed half a courgette over night (well, someone has) and she looks in good form, sail up and flying around, looks like Nessie is go for launch. Scott is good too, everyone else is just interested in the new heater but the plecs seem to be doing nicely. We did a water change and added a bit more No9 to make up for what was lost and some Stress Coat - which sent the other fish wild for a day (?) but the plecs look happy enough - of course they never actually smile but I think thats congenital :D

My plec's feed perfectly they join in with the blood worm etc etc.
I feed them catfish pellets every other day this way they get to the food- also you could try algae waffers.
