Why is this forum called Betta and Gouramis?

Why is this forum called Betta and Gouramis?
Is this forum not for all labyrith fish?
Perciformes
This is the best known group of labyrinth fish, containing the bettas, gouramis, paradise fish, kissing gourami, etc.
Channiformes
The snakeheads. This order contains only one family, and one genus (Channa).
Synbranchiformes
This group of eels are seldom seen in home aquaria. They are large (100 cm) and only active during the night.

So I think is should be renamed Perciformes, Channiformes & Synbranchiformes.
Just because Channiformes & Synbranchiformes ar not that common, this would be more inline with the titles of the other forums.

What do you guys think?

I think Perciformes would be an okay renaming, but the other two orders belong in oddballs, in my opinion.

Also, newbies probably look at the bold titles and not at the suibheadings, so they'd just skip over the section if it had a name that they didn't recognize.

Snakeheads and eels dont really belong ina forums with bettas and gouramis jsut cos they are labyrinth fish, its not like their care is similar...

Hmmm... if you say so

Anyway, "Bettas and Gouramis" sounds better than "Perciformes, Channiformes & Synbranchiformes"... Too many big words!

Betta & gouramis works for me, it's pretty universal, if you check most other fish forums, most of them also have a forum named "Betta's and Gourami's", not those other words you used, hehe.

I was thinking that...although an exclusively Gourami forum would get about 1 post a month.

I think it's good to air and discuss ideas for improving the forums, we might as well have them organised as clearly and sensibly as possible or it just makes things difficult for people.

I like helping people with gouramis, it's hard looking through a billion betta posts tryng to find a single gourami one! One post a day is easier than going through 30 or so betta posts

true...i always come here looking for gourami threads...and it's hard to find them.
