i still dont get why you cant say for #32### (c hrist)sake but you can say for god sake

I personally feel that it has to do exclusively with the context that the word is used into..... There is no - I repeat no.... valid reason to use the word in any context of explaining any predicament your fish may find themselves into.... Don't you agree???

or you could be voicing your prayers online for a sick fish pet or other eg family members

Blasphemy = To speak of (God or a sacred entity) in an irreverent, impious manner

Just wondering now if it will hash out Allah or any reference to a religious person.

Strangly enough I told my four year old granddaughter off last weekend for saying fgs (dont laugh, goodness knows where she got it from!)

Seffie x

It doesn't

I repeat!!.. on a fish forum as we are, ... why would "allah" or your C H R I S T! word ever be required????????.... Only if used in vain.... That is a problem!

You know we are splitting hairs here.... we can go through the whole vocabulary and the Zulus in South Africa refers to Him as "Modisa".... let's make a list.....

Well, there *is* a forum called 'Books, Music, Films & TV Shows'. And there's planty of books, music, films and TV shows that could require the use of such words.

The primary function of this forum is "Tropical Fish Forums".... to every situation there are, the deviations and in the rare events that this terminology may ever be required (in the right context).... I'm sure, an alternative can be substitutited!!!.... Is that not what is so wonderful about the English Language!??

The purpose of this forum is the exchange of information that will help members to support various types of aquatic life and other types of pets. In so doing, it is the administration's responsibility to see that the rights of people here are respected.

Certain filters are in place for words that may be abused such as curse words, obscene words or other words that may offend members if used in an inappropriate fashion etc. The list is not exhaustive but we try to do as best possible.

Administrators and moderators are in place to ensure that the forum runs fairly, safely and remains a great communal place to exchange information on all sorts of aquarism. It is not a religious website. We do understand that there are exceptions (eg, discussing a movie with a religious name in the title). Moderators are here to assist members who run into difficulty.
