ok my german ram is quite badly fin nipped now mostly his tail just wanted some help to id the culprit.

its either

the female german ram
the corys
the tetra
the honey gourami
or the yoyo loach (my number one culprit)

What species of tetra are they? Some tetras can be very nippy.

My money is on either the female ram or the gourami.

Male and female rams dont always get on, and even if they do courtship can be quite violent. Also gouramis are quite territorial. i used to have a ram pair and a male gourami who would tolerate each other up to a point, but the gourami was a grumpy old sod and would go into one every now and then, and when the rams decided to lay eggs in 'his' end of the tank world war 3 broke out!!

The tetra are cardinal and glowlight

will they continue to do this if it is the gourami and show I take them back to the lfs he's lost quite a bit of his tail from it and looks a right mess

is there anything I can do to stop it

How big is the tank out of interest? If its a decent size most fish can escape bullying.

3 foot will be upgrading to a 6 foot next year

have quite a few plants in it with some wood and rocks to hide behind and the rams stay mostly on the bottom where as the gouramis stay mid-top and usually hide in the plants. the female ram isn't fin nipped just the male

Well I thought they was a pair and when I brought them home they seemed to follow each other around a lot and then a few weeks back she laid a load of eggs all eaten though

If it is the female ram what are my options? And how do I find out who is doing it ?

Really the only way is to sit on your backside and watch them for a while :) otherwise its a bit of a tough one to solve.
