well whenever i take the lid of the tank to feed the fish, all this evapourated water s :look: tartts to drip off the lid, then i heave to clean it all up

he he...I hate it cause as soon as the lid is off my tanks, the cat is in there..!!

when I'm trying to move things from one tank to the other I have to be very careful with both lids open..! ;)

i have an open air saltwater tank so i dont get the drippy water mess i get the salt film on everything (lights ,walls, pictures hanging on the walls) but it is worth it i love my tank

I HATE taking the lid off of my 50, every day I have to do it so that I can get in there to feed. It's like a sheet of glass with a bendy middle and it makes me a nervous wreck....I'm so scared it's going to slip out of my hands and shatter in the tank or cut my fish in half

I agree with everybody else. Tank the lid off is a pain in the @$$!

My twelve gallon eclipse has this little flip top on it for feeding, but when ever I flip the whole lid over to try and avoid condisation from dripping onto my dressor, the stupid thing comes loose and falls to the floor everytime! ARGH! Stupid flip top! *grumble grumble*

:grr: Yup the lid definately makes life a lot more difficult. To top it all when I had the glass cut for the top of the tank to go underneath the lid I had it cut too think so it won't fit into the runners - now the two sheets of glass are on top of each other and keep getting stuck... damn annoying :/ :grr:

oh man and i thought i was the only 1!!!!!!! ihave 2 leave the feeding lid open to dry that up and then when i take the whole top off all the water slides onto my dresser so i need to pretty much wrap the tank in towels first!

LOL yup annoying isn't it I must admit has anyone ever managed to do a water change without getting SOME water on the floor, the GF just sighs and walks away when I start doing changes :p

LOL. Me too!

I think my bathroom towels get wetter wiping down my tank and dressor after a water change then they do off me after a bath.

And of course, I know everybody loves the spongey floor effect that happens whenever the hose slips out of the bucket an sprays a nice little lake of water onto the carpet :X MY carpet was still squishing when I I left the house tonight!

*sigh*

The things I do for my pets. At least water's cleans up better then some fo the messes my cats and my rabbit leave for me

I was taking the lid of my 20G one day while the light was still on top of it. My hand slipped on the wet glass and the entire thing started to slip into the tank. The light was on and still plugged in. I can't believe I almost electrocuted myself with all my kids watching. I will never make that mistake again. I always remove the light before taking the lid off the tank now. The newspapers would have read - Killed in tragic fishtank accident - children watch in horror. (shudders)

Oh my!!! I did that, too. I'm so glad nothing bad happened to you. That IS scary, isn't it?

...In my situation, I didn't have the light plugged in. I dropped the cover into the tank (and just about the whole thing fell into the water)! I was afraid to plug it in even after I dried it off.
