I was planning on getting my cory's and neon's mabye today, but when i woke up today (like an hour ago), i went and turned on my lights and looked at my 2 danios i got sitting in the tank to keep it cycling.

One has this small white spot DIRECTLY on top of its head. I know almost nothing about fish diseases. Mabye ick?

Anyone know what it is and how to treat it?

when i get my cory's and neon's the danio's will be givin to my friend, so will the water be contaminated and spread to my cory's and neon's?

I'm going to hold off on getting my cory's and neon's if it's something serious, but i need to know what it is so i can fix it before i give the 2 danio's to my friend.

Need size of tank in gallons or litres.
Water stats in ammonia, nitrite, nitrate, and ph.
Is the spot bigger than a grain of salt, any circling of red around it.

if i looks like a grain of salt then its ich, it it is ich the whole tank needs treating rather than just the fish as the parasite has a free swimming stage. It could also be a parasitical worm of some kind, can you get some pics? You might be better off posting this in the emergency section

10 gallon tank. planted

ammonia - 0ppm
nitrite - 0ppm
nitrate - ~10ppm
pH - ~6.2

I think it is about the size of a grain of salt. I'm about to head to the store, what would be a good brand of ick treatment to pick up.

My mom rushed me so i looked for some ick treatment stuff while i was there. Saw some stuff called Quick Cure, says "fast relief for ick & other parasites".

I use a carbon filter, but i opened it the other day and dumped out like all the carbon, so it's just like a pad filter only, like a sponge kinda.

The liquid stuff i got is blue. Says to add one drop per gallon and remove carbon.

How will i know if it's actually cured and won't affect any more fish?

Quick cure it meant to be a good med.
You follow the instructions, and some fish keepers still treat up to an extra week after the spots have gone.
