White flea things...

I noticed them in my tank a long time ago and they didn't seem to harm anything but I vacumed most of them out of the gravel anyway.

Now I was taking a close look today and they are EVERYWHERE. Little white fleas crawling through the gravel and starting to come up on the glass. My fish seem to like to pick at them which is probably why they aren't eating as much as usual. Some are bigger then others but all are visible withought a magnifying glass. Anyone know what these flea things are?

I also had thoses in my gravel, I lost every fish in that tank short after that, but it was due to a hose of the filter that came lose. So I never looked at getting rid of it as I just cleaned everything out and stored the tank for about 3 years now, Dont have spave to fill it again..

But I would love to know what that was!!

If so, it might be daphnia, or water fleas, but I don't have any idea how they got there.

I belive they are harmless. Some ppl raise them as a snack for their fishies.

I would imagine that they're unattractive crawling all over your tank. Try cutting back on the lighting a bit, maybe a couple of days without lights. Personally I strive to grow them in my breeding tanks, this way the fry have something to pick at when they're ready
